Thanksgiving!!

Went up to Tahoe to see the family for thanksgiving. Brought a 4x5 view camera, and a 6x6 hasselblad for the trip. Took a few going up 395 hwy and up at Crystal Bay. Hoping on being able to get those developed and printed soon. Up above is a panoramic view of the lake from our house. Wish I can go back up again when it snows.

November 3rd, 2007. AYSO soccer, Canyon Country Ca.

Say Hello to my part time job!!

I've been shooting soccer for a sports photography company called Action Shooters for what will be exactly one whole year pretty soon. Its a photo company that goes out and shoots youth sports during tournaments or league play, and sells the photos back to parents. Its a fun job and Ive learned a lot from it. Oddly enough, I dont really have many of my own shots. We shoot mostly film and so that goes to the lab and I never get to see it again. But today I got to shoot digital, and had some extra time, so shot a little on my own card.

So here are a few from today. U12's AYSO tourney, up near Santa Clarita.

shot with a Canon 1D mkII and 600mm f/4 lens. no cropping or editing done.

October 31st, 2007. A pumpkin patch, somewhere in Buena Park, Ca.. (Continued)

A few random or various things that I shot around the house, and later at a pumpkin patch the same day.

I have a lot of bulk film sitting around. At least a couple dozen cans of them. I loaded one up that I think is Kodak Plus-X 125 film. Its workable, but since its pretty old, it has a pretty bad base fog. I'm overexposing in camera, rather than over developing then printing with a contrast filter.

In the end its horrible for skin tones, but for the edgy boundaries that it forces you to work with, its kind of nice.

Kodak Plus-X 125 film. Canon 1N 50mm f/1.4 lens, all shots were wide open. Developed 4 1/2 minutes in D76 at 72 degrees. Printed with a full frame neg carrier and 4 1/2 contrast filter.

October 31st, 2007. A pumpkin patch, somewhere in Buena Park... Ca.

cross processing!!!!

Shot with Kodak E100VS Ektachrome color reversal film, overexposed 1-2 stops and cross processed in C-41 chemistry. I scan the negs by shooting with a digital camera over exposed by 2 stops, and then reversing in Microsoft Paint, of all things.

All shot with a Hasselblad and 80mm lens at f/2.8 at 1/250th. I stuffed the film loader with a bunch of gum wrappers to keep the film fitted and in place. Hope thats not considered an offence.
